Passwords
Whenever DAP needs you to enter a password, you are prompted with this dialog:
Storing Passwords
When you enter a password, you can choose to remember it, so that you will not be prompted again. There are two cases:
- You use Gnome: In this case, the password is stored in your Gnome keyring. This means that it should be safe. At least, it is as safe as any other password stored by Gnome.
- You don't use Gnome: In this case, the password is stored in your configuration file. Although only you can read this file and the password is not stored as clear text, this method cannot be considered as safe. It should be sufficient in most cases, but an attacker could retrieve your password.
